No Wedding Photos... yet

I want to wait until Michelle and Ed get home and have a chance to see their wedding pictures before I share some of them....

But here are some from the week before the wedding!

A little out of order, but the path that leads to the beach... at the end of our day.

Again, out of order... Grandma and Wesley all tuckered out the day after the wedding.

Two sisters, one cousin out on the boat.

Photos galore!

These are all from my phone, so not the best quality, but I thought I'd share some moments from the first 7.5 weeks of Wesley's life. He is simply amazing!

This one's in the hospital on day 2

Dum-dum-da-dum...

That's supposed to be "Here comes the bride..."

This awesome couple is tying the knot in five days!

Better late, right?

Better late than never, right?? Here are some old photos. (Old meaning from earlier this month.)

Exciting day!!!

I'm back so soon... Then maybe I'll be done for the whole summer... no, maybe I'm on a better roll now or something.

Anyways, I booked a ticket today to go and see my boys!!!!!! I get to go to NYC/Connecticut for five days in August! I called Marcy today and told her I got the ticket and I'm "little kid excited!" I have to stop thinking about it. Stop. Okay, got it.

and I get to see Gillian, and I just found out that Sarah's going to be in the area, too. So I get to see both of them!!! I feel lucky :)

Sarah, Jill, and I went out for dinner tonight at a place they used to work "back in the day" (high school). It was fun to reminisce and laugh about those days. We missed Kel, though, as it was the last night she was camping and didn't want to leave the campground (don't blame her!).
Sarah, maybe I'll tell you in person what they said. Or maybe I'll just post it someday.... ack, we'll see.

Not the same

I'm not the same person I once was. I've been realizing that lately.

Some big things (to me). Some not so big.

I've changed:
I drink pop. yep. Had 2 Diet Pepsis on Monday. The first one was at 9am and got me through the morning. There was a few years in my life when I didn't have two Diet Pepsis within YEARS. I'm still kind of getting used to it. Part of it is the fact that I'm staying away from sugar. I used to be big on juice and PowerAde, but they're jam-packed with sugar. Diet Pepsi has none!

I eat meat. That sounds weird to me. For about six years I ate none whatsoever. Yep, a full-fledged vegetarian (meat made me sick; it wasn't a choice). I got sick of it, so I started eating chicken about once a month (this was probably two years ago). Then once a week at the most. Then I had turkey at Thanksgiving. (a year and a half ago) Now, I'll eat chicken, turkey, and pork. Still no red meat (still makes me sick), but I love going out to eat again! For many years there were about two things on any menu that I could eat. Grilled cheese and a garden salad.

I love love love to cook. I didn't mind it before, but I wouldn't choose to do it. Now I love cooking, I get excited about it, and I'm on a high during/after cooking. The other night I tried some new things: peppercorn pork tenderloin on the grill, roasted peppers, bruschetta, and red potato salad. YUM!!! I'm proud to say it tasted good, it was filling, and it looked good. My dad asked if I'm trying out for "Top Chef."

I'm late. I used to be punctual -- and didn't have patience for people who were late. Now it's me. Two minutes, five minutes... (sadly) ten minutes. I'm okay with two minutes, getting frustrated with five minutes, and annoyed when I'm ten minutes late. So it's not like I'm okay with being ten minutes late, or let it happen (not too often I hope)... but I've changed.

Yesterday two of my sisters said something about me that made me freak out and imagine what an identity crisis feels like. I'm debating about talking about it, but I'm definitely thinking about it (it's another way I've changed). I might get back to you on this one.

YES there are many ways (I believe) I'm the same. Maybe I'll get to that some day. Not likely, seeing as I get on here less than once a month (sad). we'll see.

In the meantime, my friends and I went camping for three nights over the weekend. AWESOME!

Leanne did a marathon in June!! WAY TO GO LI-LI!! :) Liz and I watched at the finish line for two hours and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Made it to a TIGERS game, and even had sweet seats!

Wedding plans, wedding plans, wedding plans! Michelle and Ed's big day is 17 days away!

I have a nephew!!!

Wesley John was born on Wednesday, May 28th at 6:03pm. He was just barely 7 pounds and 20 inches long. He has a full head of hair and big blue eyes, and he's a keeper!

I am an aunt!!

You should see my family with him! Kristin and Jason are positively beaming (proud parents!), my mom cannot get over how beautiful he is, my dad is proud as ever, and all of us aunts (5 sisters were visiting them at the hospital at once yesterday) are just in love! David and Peter are pumped, too! David's so tall (6 feet, 4 inches) and Wesley's so tiny :)

He's pretty much all I've been thinking about for the past couple of days, same as everyone I think!

Mom and baby are both doing well!

Yes, I realize

It's been so long. However... I don't have a computer at home right now, so blogging is on the backburner. For times like now, in the library. (This doesn't happen very often.)

An updated list of what's up, seeing as if I write about everything, it'll take way toooooo long.
  • No baby yet. She's getting anxious
  • HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY (yesterday) to my dear sister Michelle!!! I wish I could've seen her yesterday to give her a big hug... but she's far, far away.
  • The WINGS are up in the series against Dallas 3 games to 1. Hopefully Saturday afternoon they'll be celebrating making it to the CUP Finals!
  • David, Kathleen, and Greta are done with high school!!!! Their last day of school was yesterday. I was subbing in the middle school, looking around, thinking that they should still be down there. They should still be 12, 13, 14. Not 18 and moving on to the big world of independence and college! Seriously, you don't pay too close attention for about two minutes, and wham! they're graduating. Congratulations!! (The big day is next week.)
  • Happy 3rd Anniversary to Jill and Ryan (on the 14th)!
  • Some friends and I are thinking about heading to Det for a Tigers game. Is it worth it though? Are they going to put it all together and dominate like they can some days? Or are they going to get a few base runners in the whole nine innings and not send a single one home? argh, is it worth it?
  • Kelly is halfway through Optometry school!!! In TWO short years, she's going to be an eye doctor! Way to go, Kelly! I know it hasn't been easy, but you're getting there!
  • Speaking of Kelly (not the same one), she was sick for 5 or 6 days there. :( So I went over there the other day to hang out with Addy (2 and a half) and help out. Nice help I am -- I was making dinner and started a fire. Twice. Good news, though! They were able to save the house. Just kidding -- the fires lasted for all of 10 seconds, and there was no damage (except to my self-confidence in cooking). So they DID save the house, but it never got past the stove top. Go, Karen.
  • My baby sis is going to be SEVENTEEN next week. And seeing as I get on here so often lately.... I think I better mention it now. HAPPY SEVENTEENTH BIRTHDAY JULES!!!!!!
  • Gotta go -- back to class!!
