Moving

Well, I found out yesterday that we are either moving on June 1st or July 1st. No one knows where though. I told Tamara and she kind of freaked out... we live less than 3 minutes away from each other right now, so it's really easy for getting together and hanging out when we don't have much time. So now we might be 20-25 minutes away. :( Not sure which town we'll be in, but Marcy told me they're going to either remodel/add on to their house, or tear it down and rebuild. So it's just a temporary move, but it'll be for the rest of the time I'm here. I'm not too excited about that...
Changing topics, yesterday was one of my days off and it was supposed to be in the mid 80s. So in the morning I got up and got all ready to spend the day at the beach. It only ended up being in the 70s (nice, but not exactly beach weather). I'm working today, and it's supposed to be 70 - 75. Guess what. It's already 80 degrees. It's beautiful weather, but I don't get to spend the day at the beach... argh. Oh well, it's about to be summer so hopefully we'll have lots and lots of the 80 degree weather coming up!
I'm hoping it'll be hot in Chicago -- so I can wear some of my new shorts :)

Too long!

Okay, it's been way too long since I've been on here! But I do have a good excuse. I'm sure you've all heard about the "Nor'Easter" we had last week... well, we had some really bad flooding (all over Connecticut, actually), and our basement flooded. and that's where my computer was. So it was flooded as well. I'm now at the library trying to catch up on everything. There's a lot to write on here, so here goes:
1. Katharina and I went to the wax museum in NYC last weekend. It was really, really cool! I think the best part was I got to be in a picture with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln! :) We left the city early, and it was a good thing we did. That was the day the big storm started, and about an hour after we left the city, all of the trains stopped running! So we would've been stranded in New York for the night. Ah!
2. Katharina, Tamara, Ellen, and I are doing a 42-mile bike tour of New York City on May 6th! It goes through all 5 boroughs (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island). We're not going to race -- we're treating it like a fun day biking around the city.
3. B-E-A-utiful weather here!! I'm burnt from a long day in the city yesterday. We participated in a scavenger hunt for au pairs and nannies from NY, CT, and NJ. Over 300 people participated, and we placed in the top 6! :) Then we relaxed in Central Park (walked around, layed on the grass, played catch with a football...) for a few hours before going to see Legally Blonde: The Musical on Broadway! It was so much fun, and highly entertaining!! We didn't stop smiling the entire time, and for about an hour afterwards.
We met a couple of girls at the scavenger hunt, and had lunch with them at the Bryant Park Cafe. It's an outdoor restaurant, the food was great, and everyone was really just happy to be there together. The sun really perks everyone up!
4. I'm really, really looking forward to the girls weekend in Chicago! Just a few more days and I get to see Mom, Heidi, Kristin (& Jason!), and Julie. (I'm still crossing my fingers that Katz is coming, and that I might see Shelmz for a minute or two before she heads to Florida with her friends.)
5. Making plans with Mom and Dad about Memorial Day weekend. That's going to be another really fun weekend! I have so much to look forward to!
6. Congratulations Mom and Dad on your "adoption" of Nelson! :) (aka Buddy?)

WAY TO GO RED WINGS!!!! I stayed up late last night watching SportsCenter for updates on the game. I only lasted until the end of the 1st overtime. So the first thing I did when I woke up this morning was turn on SportsCenter... and I was so happy to hear about Johan Franzen's 2OT goal! :) YEA Wings!

Time on my hands

I sort of have some time on my hands right now... the boys are playing all around the house right now so I'm updating you all on my week. We had a CRAZY Tuesday. Seriously! But it went well. The Real Estate people came here for tours in the afternoon, so all morning Marcy and I scrambled around the house (and town), doing last minute things to get the house ready to look at. Then they had meetings here in the evening, so I had the boys. We went out for dinner, to a park (Mason had baseball), then to Baskin Robbins (ice cream -- yum!!). As we were eating our ice cream, we noticed a sign that said "Buy 1 Sundae, get one free every Tuesday." and it was, indeed, Tuesday. and we were just eating ice cream cones. Totally missed out on that one! Martina McBride was on the Today Show that morning. I didn't get to go, so I'm trying not to think about what I missed out on.
I got the night off last night!! So Tamara, Ellen, and I went out for dinner at Ruby Tuesday's, then went shopping! None of us got much (I just got 2 pairs of flip-flops), but we enjoyed hanging out. I talked to Kelly on the phone for a bit, also Mom and Michelle. Then I got home and joined in on a therapy session... :) That's when Marcy suggested I leave for New Hampshire today instead of tomorrow! So I get to leave soon to go and see them. I'm excited to spend a few days with some Helminens!

Happy Easter

I'm heading up to New Hampshire in a few hours! I get to see Jim & Lynne and the newlyweds Bob and Maria! :) I'm excited to see all of them, and to spend Easter with family! The five of us are having Easter dinner at Jim and Lynne's. I get to stay until Monday, so it'll be a nice little getaway for me.
Happy Easter everyone!

M&Ms!!!

Happy April everyone! Wow! I can't believe that my time here is more than halfway over! I move home in less than 4 months.
On Friday night, Katharina, Ellen, and I went to a middle school musical in New Canaan. It was insane! It was so good!! They did "Singin' in the Rain" (written in the 1950s, took place in the 1920s). All of the lead characters had solos (really, really good), the music was live (the orchestra was a combination of students with professional musicians), the choreography was great, and the acting was great. It looked like a professional play! I told Marcy about it on Saturday and she said... "Everything has to be over the top!" (pretty much everything around here is over the top.)
Saturday we went shopping in Trumball but I'm not impressed with the latest styles, so I only ended up with some shorts and shoes.
On Sunday Katharina and I went into the city. We ended up just walking around a lot. Went for lunch in Times Square, checked out Broadway tickets (didn't see anything we wanted to go to), went to the M&M store. That was the highlight of my day! I love that store!!! I shouldn't admit this, but I bought $10 worth of peanut m&ms. :) We went shopping a little (I bought a summer jacket from H&M), spent about an hour in Central Park. The daffodils were up! They looked so beautiful! and the tulips are starting to come up -- just the leaves so far. I can't wait to see the park when all of the tulips are blooming!
I'm hoping to go up to New Hampshire this weekend to spend Easter with Bob, Maria, Jim, and Lynne. Plus it'd be fun to go on a little road trip!
The real estate agents are coming to look at the house tomorrow... so we've been really busy over the past week! I have to de-clutter my room tonight, but it won't take too long. Then I'm going to try to get to bed early because it's going to be a busy week!
Oh yeah, Katharina and I watched Marie Antoinette last night. Neither of us enjoyed it... so if you haven't seen it, you're not missing out!
